Festival Stage

Festival Performances

Every year we invite international student groups, community groups, staff, and faculty to share a part of their culture on stage.  Performances run 11 am - 2 pm, so stop by the festival stage on the first floor of the Campus Center to see music, singing, poetry, dance, and more from around the world.

2020 Performance Schedule

Performances run 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, with opening remarks at 10:45 am.

Performer Description
Jordan Gusich - MC Welcome persons to the Festival.  Explain that we are going to have continuous entertainment through 1:30.  Encourage people to do select activities.
Shaweta & Hanna Sikka This mother and daughter performance team mix Hindi and Punjabi in a Bollywood performance.
Vidyani Suryadevara Bharatanatyam Indian classical dance.  It tells a story through dance, footwork, hand facial gestures, and costume.
Indianapolis Chinese Community Center, Inc. Performing a traditional Lion Dance.
DesiJags One of the largest student-run organizations on campus.  They will perform a Bollywood Dance combining Indian folk style, jazz, hip-hop, Kathak, with belly-dancing.
Mariachi Son Juvenil Fall Creek Valley Middle School will present an instrumental and music performance in the Mariachi tradition from Mexico
Aashika Varadharajan Bharathnatyam a major form of Indian Classical dance originating in Tamil Nadu, India.
Adam Riveira Adam will be accompanying on Egyptian Tabla Indy Tribal:  an Indianapolis based American Tribal Style Dance Troupe.  Directed by Jeana Jorgensen it is completely improvisational
World Languages & Cultures Department Global Poetry readings from students of these languages

PIE Fulbright Argentina Group Performance Argentinian songs with guitar and ukulele accompaniment from Virginia Mosconi, Johanna Diacono, Dolores Ardanaz, Lautaro Garcia Alonso
Adam Riveira—Playground Productions Adam will perform a drum solo with his Egyptian tabla.
Indy Samba Indy Samba is a fun blend of Latin rhythms from sambas and nossa novas to boleros and merengue
