Federal Tax Workshops
We recommend that you try the Windstar Foreign National Tax Resource program first to complete your nonresident tax return. See the Windstar page for details.
If you still feel you need help, OIA has set up a number of Windstar workshops to help you complete your tax returns. These workshops are only for persons filing non-resident returns.
The Federal Tax Workshops will take place in the following sessions:
Tuesday, March 21, Education/Social Work, ES 2119
Friday, March 24, Education/Social Work, ES 2119
Thursday, March 30, Education/Social Work, ES 2119
Each workshop is limited to 25 spaces.
Items to bring with you to a federal tax workshop:
- Your passport with your U.S. nonimmigrant visa included in it (I-20 or DS-2019, I-94, etc.)
- Any forms such as a W-2, 1042-S or 1099 forms that you received
- Check routing information — your checkbook or an unused check.
- You need materials for 2 Step DUO-login process.
If you do not have these items, you will not be able to complete your tax forms.
State Tax Workshops
Representatives from the Indiana Department of Revenue will present tax workshops. These sessions are for state tax questions and completing returns only! No federal tax questions can be answered at this time. The sessions are for all students and scholars. We will use paper forms which will be provided.
The State Tax Workshops will take place in the following sessions:
Friday, March 31, Business/SPEA (BS) 2007
Friday, April 7, Business/SPEA (BS) 2007
Items to bring with you to a state tax workshop:
Bring your form W-2 or 1042-S, along with your completed federal tax return.
You must have completed your federal tax forms before attending the state tax workshop or you will not be able to complete your state tax return during the workshop.
