Temporary Housing

All temporary housing is off-campus. If you have not made housing arrangements before arrival, it may be necessary to stay in a hotel until you make arrangements. If you still have questions after reading the following housing information, please e-mail us at intlaff@iupui.edu for assistance. All prices are subject to change.

Near the Campus: (in order of distance from the campus)

Reservations are required at all of these locations. Ask if any special rates are available. All rates listed are per night unless otherwise indicated. Calculate an additional 12% tax on all hotel rates to determine actual cost.

University Place Hotel:
Located in the center of the IUPUI campus. To obtain the special University rate of $138 + tax , you may provide the following information to the Office of International Affairs and we will assist you in making a reservation: Credit card type (Mastercard or Visa), credit card number, expiration date, name as printed on credit card, smoking or non-smoking preference, number of persons, dates requested, and your contact information. We will provide you with confirmation of the reservation. If you change your plans, you must give 24-hour notice directly to the hotel, or your credit card will be charged for the first night’s stay.

The Residence Inn

TownePlace Suites by Mariott Park 100 is located about 15 minutes north of the campus on the west side of the city, same as the airport.  Easy access from the airport is Federal Highway 465 (which circles Indianapolis) North from the airport area to 71st Street; exit to 71st Street East and begin looking for 5802 West 71st Street.  This hotel is offering a 20% discount to IUPUI students and their families and visitors to IUPUI.

Park Place Apartments:
Less than a mile from the campus with easy access to IUPUI and to the downtown area, Park Place Apartments is currently under renovation. Their commitment to IUPUI students, including international students, is demonstrated by a 5% discount for students. They offer two- and three-bedroom apartments; rents include all utilities, including cable and hi-speed internet connections.

Near the Airport:

If you arrive at night, you may want to stay at a hotel near the airport. Following are the least expensive hotels near the airport - rates listed are from December 2007. All hotels charge 16% tax.

Shuttle Service is provided free of charge from the airport to the Days Inn and Comfort Inn hotels. Call the service by using the free “Courtesy Phone” near the Baggage Claim area in the airport. A taxi ride to Motel 6 costs about $7 plus $1 tip.
